Guided tour of the two hearts of the historic center of Ascoli Piceno: Arringo Square and Piazza del Popolo.
Starting with the Palace dell'Arengo Square Arringo will illustrate the Cathedral of St. Emidio (also inside), the 'Bishop and Palazzo Panichi . Then reached the "living room" of the city, which is the nearest Piazza del Popolo , you can admire the Palace of the Captains of the People , the historical Coffee Meletti and the Church of St. Francis with the cloister major and minor cloister, to number theater Ventidius Basso .

the typical local sort of green olives, which has always been the flagship of the food variety in the Piceno district, has finally been certified by the DOP marking (i.e. protected origin).
We will visit a local farm to learn how these tasty green olives are grown, worked and preserved.
These green olives were praised by the Roman writer Marziale and they weren't missing in any banquets organized by the Roman aristocracy in 1st century B.C.
You will have the chance to taste high-quality extra vergine olive oil and take part in the preparation of the popular filled and fried olive all'ascolana.
The wine production is an essential element in the Piceno agribusiness.
We will visit some of the historical and prestigious wineris in our area, where we can the producers of our best red and white wines, such as DOC Rosso Piceno, Rosso Piceno Superiore, Offida Passerina and Pecorino. While telling us the stories of their production processes, they will will let us taste their excellent wines.
We will spend a full day together with an experienced truffle grower, who can tell all the secrets of this extraordinary hypogeal mushroom, whose excellent quality and intense aroma (especially the “nero pregiato” black sort) make it a product that is highly requested by refined top restaurants.
This versatile products was widely used in traditional recipes. Thanks to a new association of local producers aimed at protecting and boosting its production, the green anise from Castignano has now come up again with its healthy proprieties and its peculiar aroma. We will meet a member of the association to learn how it's produced and to taste different products obtained by using this sort of anise. On request, this tour can include a visit to the Meletti company, producing the popular anise-based liqueur “Anisetta”
We will visit a dairy farm, where 180 cows belonging to the Italian “razza bruna” are breeded. In this farm, which is specialised in producing different sorts of cow cheese, we will have the chance to taste them.
